Ambulance New Brunswick Inc. (ANB) was incorporated on June 6, 2007 under the Companies Act. ANB is the organization that has been granted the license and authority by the New Brunswick Department of Health to provide ambulance services in New Brunswick as of December 16, 2007.
ANB is responsible for providing land and air ambulance services throughout New Brunswick. ANB has contracted with New Brunswick Emergency Medical Services (NB EMS), a subsidiary of Medavie EMS, member of the Medavie Blue Cross group of companies.
ANB is committed to providing excellent and progressive pre-hospital patient care through a “made in New Brunswick” solution.

- Centralized medical direction and enhanced medical oversight processes.

- Reporting to the Department of Health, a provincial Medical Director (MD) develops standardized medical protocols and oversees the overall quality of patient care throughout the province for communications, management, paramedics and flight nurses.

- The provincial MD develops continuing education programs and opportunities for research, and administers the patient care reporting process. Four Medical Oversight Physicians provide interactive, real-time advice to ambulance personnel.
|
- A single Medical Communications Management Centre in Moncton deploys provincial ambulance resources and ensures a timely response to ambulance calls.
|
- By coordinating all calls through a centralized location, the system optimizes the use of paramedic teams for emergency, non-emergency and transfer calls. Continuous data collection also enables ANB to build further efficiencies into the system – from positioning paramedics to coordinating collaborative services with hospitals and other emergency response agencies.
|
- Standardized Human Resource management ensures recruitment and retention of paramedics, as well as enhanced training for paramedics.

- An expanded fleet of ambulances and a standardized preventative maintenance program for system vehicles. Preventative maintenance helps limit vehicle failures that could affect safety or response times. Two fleet centers (Moncton and Fredericton) are located across the province to provide fleet maintenance services.

- Coordinated non-emergency patient transfer services, and
